Allergan, the company that brought us Botox just received FDA approval for Latisse~ the first prescription treatment for longer lashes. All you need to do is apply this liquid to the upper eye lid (just like eyeliner) every evening. For approximately $4 a day, you will see longer lashes in as little as 4 weeks. Once you get your lashes to their desired length (Allergan recommends 16 weeks) you can use the product every other night.
LATISSE™ makes lash growth possible because of its active ingredient: bimatoprost. Although the precise mechanism of action is not known, research suggests that the growth of eyelashes occurs by increasing the percent of hairs in, and the duration of, the anagen (or growth) phase. Lashes can grow longer, thicker and darker because bimatoprost can also prolong this growth phase.
